What is the process of creating a pet portrait?
If you live in Sooke or the surrounding area, I am happy to meet your pet and take professional photos, from which you can select your favorite pose.
If you do not live nearby, a portrait can be created from your photograph. Multiple photos of the animal are helpful for markings, size, proportion and “attitude”, even if the pose you choose does not include full body features.
Many people choose a 16” x 20” pet portrait. Other sizes are also available.
Portraits are created using artist quality acrylic paint, on a gallery wrapped canvas. The edges of the canvas are painted and the portrait is wired, ready for hanging.
The canvas can be hung 'as is' or you can take the completed painting to your local framing shop and purchase the frame of your choice.
What is the price of a pet portrait?
A portrait of one pet, on a 16 x 20 inch canvas, begins at $225.00.
Each project is unique. You may wish to have additional pets in the painting, or perhaps include a person or a favorite toy. You may request a particular size or require gift wrapping or shipping.

Do you require a deposit?
Once you have chosen your favorite pose, a deposit of 50% is required before painting begins. The balance is required upon completion, prior to shipment or pickup of the painting. There is a purchase agreement that explains the terms of sale.
How long will it take?
Paintings are usually complete within four to six weeks after you select your favorite pose, and I receive the purchase agreement with your deposit. However, in the months preceeding Christmas, it may take longer.
A completion date will be firmed up when you place your order.
Are you able to ship the portrait to me?
Yes, I can ship anywhere. If you have a preferred shipping method, please let me know, and I will provide you with the expected shipping costs, and make all the arrangements.
